This is the report from a June 2017 roundtable discussion amongst 37 academic leaders and students of the ANU about ten huge man-made existential threats humans are facing. The discussion ranged widely over the nature of the existential threats and the fact that they are urgent and not being adequately addressed anywhere, least of all in Australia. There was agreement about the need for coordinated global action on all of them, and recognition that universities have a key responsibility to their societies in the fields of research, education and policy advocacy.
